Towards the end of the years 1980 Vallejo contacted painters of miniatures who were working with a Vallejo color range which had been formulated originally for painting animated cartoons. The result was the first range of special colors marketed in 1991 as Model Color. In those days it was not customary to paint miniatures with water-based acrylics but the ease of usage and the absence of solvents in the formula of these unique colors were the reason for making Model Color one of the most popular brands and a favorite of modelers worldwide. Since the nineties and until today, we have developed the widest catalogue of acrylic products for model painters, offering a selection of products of exceptional quality and always avoiding the use of solvents in their manufacture.
